Beaches
Southern California is home of some of the most beautiful, well known beaches in the world --there’s no better place for surfing, rollerblading, people watching or just taking in a spectacular sunset.
Venice Beach
Venice Beach is second only to Disneyland as Southern California’s most popular California tourist destination. Home to wide, sandy beaches, the bohemian Boardwalk filled with street performers, artists and vendors, not to mention the world-famous Venice Canals.
Muscle Beach
One of Venice Beach’s most recognizable landmarks, this outdoor gym (called The Pit) hosts an impressive show of weightlifters pumping iron.
Santa Monica Beach
Gorgeous stretches of white sandy beaches await the sun worshipper, and plenty to do when the day is done. A mix of the old and new, Santa Monica’s century-old pier is home to an old-fashioned amusement park, and adjacent to the scenic Palisades Park. A short block away is the popular 3rd Street Promenade offering shopping, restaurants, bars, movie theaters and plenty of outdoor entertainment.
Malibu Beach
A short drive up the Pacific Coast Highway, Malibu is home to L.A.'s rich and famous. This laid back beach town offers beautiful beaches, great surfing, excellent seafood and plenty of celebrity watching!
Catalina Island
A wilderness of oak, cactus, and sage, secluded coves, lush kelp forests and abundant sea life waits just off the coast of Southern California.
